World Book Day is always fun in Nursery! The Hungry Caterpillars dressed up as people who help us. We had doctors, nurses, vets, superheroes, police officers, firefighters and the tooth fairy sitting on our carpet!
The children listened carefully to a wonderful book called ‘ What We’ll Build ‘ by Oliver Jeffers. Afterwards, they thought about what they would like to build to help other people and discussed their ideas. Fantastic ideas included an incredible machine to turn bad guys into good guys, a hotel for tired superheroes to rest and relax in and a hospital for mummies who are poorly!
The children joined the rest of the school in the hall for a costume parade. They loved showing off their costumes and admiring all the fabulous, imaginative costumes of the children in all the other classes.
In the afternoon the children enjoyed the sunshine and went outdoors to help our school community by planting in our school grounds.
What a busy day!
