Read MoreAt Tankersley St. Peter’s Primary School Design and Technology is taught in an inspiring and practical way. Pupils use creativity and imagination to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and other’s needs, wants and values. They develop resilience to overcome obstacles when working practically and develop the skill of work collaboratively. Our children learn to research, design, make and evaluate products against given criteria and use a variety of tools to design and make their chosen products.
Our pupils also understand and apply the principles of nutrition. They learn about where food comes from and how to cook.
Design and Technology enriches our Creative Curriculum topic work. It gives the children a real life context because they see a purpose and understand how their designs and products are used in the wider world.
