The Hungry Caterpillars have been learning about why and how we celebrate Easter. The children listened to the Easter story from the Bible and walked up to St. Peter’s church for an Easter service with Rev. Chris. They enjoyed watching the amazing performance of the Easter play by classes 3 and 4 and found out more about Jesus dying on the cross and then coming back to life. Afterwards, the story was recreated outside in our play area and resources were used to represent the cross, the tomb and the stone. The children tucked into hot cross buns at snack time. They also learnt that eggs represent new life and decorated eggs for a lovely Easter card. The Hungry Caterpillars were visited by the Easter Bunny (who left muddy footprints in our playground and Nursery!) He left a note telling the children that he had left them chocolate treats and eggs to hunt for all over the playground. Everyone had fun hunting for eggs in the spring sunshine.
Happy Easter!
