The Hungry Caterpillars have loved learning about the awesome season of autumn. The children have enjoyed looking at autumn objects, such as leaves, conkers, acorns and pine cones on the investigation table using magnifying glasses. They have developed their mathematical skills by using the autumn objects to create repeating patterns. They have also enjoyed matching numeral to quantity by recognising numbers on laminated autumn leaves and placing the same number of pegs around the leaf. During an autumn walk around our school they were challenged to find 5 favourite leaves in our ‘Wonder Garden’ to count into a bag.
The children have also enjoyed listening to autumn themed stories, learning autumnal Poetry Basket poems and creating wonderful artwork!
