The children have watched Remembrance Sunday videos and have been extending their vocabulary, discussing the meaning of words such as ‘Parade,’Veteran,’Wreath’ and ‘Cenotaph.’ The children have also designed their own medals and created a class handprint poppy as well as a class poem. Nursery and Reception children enjoyed learning more about Remembrance Sunday from one of our school family members, who brought her own father’s medals and photographs, all linked to when he served in the Royal Navy.
