The Nursery children have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly by focusing on one of our favourite story books, ‘ The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle. They have observed the process of metamorphosis by watching the transformation of real caterpillars in the Nursery classroom. The 5 butterflies were named Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo (inspired by Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Harry by the children. The butterflies were released in our Early Years outdoor play area and will hopefully be seen flying around Tankersley School!
