To celebrate World Book Day this year we planned various activities spread across a week.
In our hands
We chose to explore a specific text across the whole school. The text we chose was called ‘In our hands’ by Lucy Farfort.
Planned literacy experiences around this text supported children to raise questions, express opinions and feelings, build resilience, connect with each other as a community, and contemplate the ways in which coming together as a community impacts on their own lives, the lives of others and the wider world. This book also helped us embed our key message and school vision.
