The children have had great fun using their senses to explore a range of materials, such as wood, glass, plastic, metal, wool, shell, rubber and fabric. They have described the properties of the materials, learning lots of new vocabulary, such as rough, smooth, see through, transparent, waterproof, natural, human made. The children also matched different material photograph cards to the material name cards.
As part of this half term’s enquiry question: ‘How does Winter weather affect us?’ the children will soon be predicting and testing different materials, to investigate which ones could be used to make the best Winter coat. 😊⭐
