The children have matched everyday objects such as shapes and boots. They have also had fun taking part in a ‘Travel, Pair, Share’ activity, using different sized and coloured compare bears. The children had to find a partner who had the exact same bear. This brought about discussions linked to the vocabulary: same, different and similar! The Shining Stars have also had fun sorting themselves as a class according to different criteria. They then played the ‘Guess My Rule’ game, finding the rule that allowed certain shapes into a set circle. For example, was the rule based upon the colour of the shapes? Was the rule based upon the type of shape? Was the rule based upon the number of points, corners or sides that the shapes had? Lots of fantastic deeper level thinking Shining Stars! Well done!
