The children had fun spotting different features of their locality including different types of houses, bus stop signs, traffic signs and natural plants and trees in Tankersley woods. The children used their senses to explore their surroundings, smelling the wild garlic in the woods (whilst looking out for the Gruffalo). They also observed tree roots and had a quiet time to reflect and develop spirituality whilst looking up at the tree canopy, hearing the Spring birds sing. The children were keen to point out areas of Tankersley that they knew and even where their own houses were located! At the end of the trail, the children did a super traffic survey, marking down the different vehicles that they spotted travelling near school. Thank you to all of our parents and carers who supported us on the trail! Well done Shining Stars!
