On Monday we went on our first class trip to Barnsley. We walked across the bridge to Birdwell where we caught the bus to Barnsley. For some children it was the first time on a bus and everyone really enjoyed it. When we got to town we walked to the library where we visited the children’s section and then made our way to the museum. We had a brilliant time taking part in lots of different activities including handling Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age artefacts, learning about archaeologists and their work, knapping a soap into the shape of an arrowhead like our ancestors did with flint. We impressed the staff with our fantastic knowledge of this time in history and learnt a lot more. On our way home we even managed to visit the Cooper gallery and admire the artwork on display. It was a fantastic day and we had lots of fun.
