Dear Families

The term is definitely moving quick, with our decorations going up next week.

Pantomime

Some year groups are off to the Panto next week, at the Academy Theatre at Birdwell…. ohhh yes, we are! If you would like to send your child with a snack for the Panto, please ensure that they have it on the day and they are responsible for it. Please ensure that you send them with your child in the morning as we are unable to accept them at the school office. We ensure that your child brings their water bottle as normal to take to the theatre.

We also have trips going out next week too, please ensure that your children are sent in weather suitable outer clothing, e.g., a warm waterproof coat and sensible shoes.

Online Safety

Our Y5 and Y6 had a session this week with Kirsty, who is a healthy peer relationship practitioner from Compass, many of our children are now online and accessing social media. Unfortunately, some of the conflicts on social media can spill into school. I have attached a sheet from Kirsty, which supports keeping children safe online.

 Road Safety

We have had a reply back from the council saying that we do not qualify for an assisted crossing (which we did not ask for). They said, “ Whilst the setting of speed limits is a function of the council, enforcement of speed limits is undertaken by SYP.”

I will be meeting with the parish council next week to see if we can get further action on this, we are wanting either speed bumps, a zebra crossing or a 20 mph zone for the school.

I have now signed up with Brakes, road charity to see if they can support us too.

Christmas Jumper Day

Thursday the 8 December 2022 is Christmas Jumper Day. We will again be supporting this cause with money raised going to The Save The Children Charity.

Children can come to school wearing a Christmas Jumper with their school uniform. Or alternatively wear a red or green top.

Please make you donations via the just Giving page below:
