We celebrated Easter with a very special church service at Tankersley St Peter’s church. It was wonderful to come together as a school community and remember all the main events from the Holy Week.

Each class sang a song and there were Bible readings about the Palm Sunday, Last Supper, The praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus’ crucifixion, the empty tomb and his resurrection. We sang together as a whole congregation some of our favourite Easter hymns including We Have a King Who Rides a Donkey, From Heaven You Came, There is a Green Hill Far Away and Celebrate. The choir treated us to a brilliant performance of a the song Holy Forever which was accompanied by the members of the worship band and conducted by Mrs Cooper. Reverend Chris led us in prayers and it was a brilliant way to end the busy Easter term and remember Jesus’ sacrifice for us all.
