We are looking to employee two First Year Teaching and Learning Apprentices, looking to start their apprenticeships, to join our team, here at Tankersley.

This successful applicant will undertake duties to support the class Teacher to deliver outstanding learning in our all Key Stages whilst completing the relevant qualification.

Teaching Assistant

Tankersley St Peter’s C.E.(Aided) Primary School is a friendly school with a highly motivated, committed and supportive team. We are a good school, working towards outstanding and have recently been in the top 3% schools nationally for our end of KS2 results.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support in school. Ideally you will have experience of working across both Key Stage 1 and 2 and EYFS.

We are looking for a candidate:

  • who is committed to achieving high standards with all our children
  • who is passionate about teaching and learning
  • will work closely with colleagues as part of a friendly and supportive team.
  • has a good understanding of the primary curriculum and EYFS curriculum
  • has a positive approach to managing children’s behaviour
  • holds a Level 2 or equivalent Teaching Qualification
  • has GCSE Maths and English
  • has good computing skills

Relief School Meals Supervisory Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to join our happy and supportive team of supervisors to oversee the children during the lunchtime period. The working hours will be on a relief basis 1 hour per day, Mon-Fri (term time only).

Lunchtime supervisors will be required to supervise the children in the playground and dining room. Successful applicants will be expected to:

• contribute to the development of a positive approach to lunchtime play • take part in activities with children over the lunchtime period
• organise and maintain play equipment
• support other lunchtime supervisors in delivering play activities

• encourage children to choose and eat their lunch
• be aware of and deliver Health and Safety in the dining room.
