The children have looked at information PowerPoints, videos and photographs as well as objects, to learn more about Remembrance Sunday. They have also been brainstorming and talking about new vocabulary such as parade, cenotaph and veteran. The children have created their own class poem, made a large handprint poppy and painted their own poppy fields using smaller paint brushes. The children’s learning culminated in one of our school community Nans bringing in her own father’s World War 11 medals with photographs. She was assisted by her two grandaughters who also explained and answered the children’s questions. Well done everybody and thank you to our super visitor and her assistants!
