On Wednesday the pupils from the global guardians group presented an assembly about how essential and precious water is for our lives.
We discussed how dirty water is far more dangerous than guns as more people around the world die from diseases contracted from drinking unclean water than from gun crime. We looked at the story of  Etebane, a 12 year old girl from Ethiopia who has to do a 2.5 mile journey twice a day in order to fetch clean water for her family. The children also watched a short video about a community in Kenya and learnt about flying toilets.
All the pupils had a chance to think about their own usage of water and how it could be reduced.
