The children have enjoyed learning all about Remembrance Sunday, by watching video clips of last year’s parade in London and the laying of poppy wreaths on the cenotaph. They have been extending their vocabulary by learning the meaning of new words such as veteran, sacrifice, peace, war, medals. The children have written information sentences and drawn pictures, as well as creating a whole class poppy made with handprints.
The Shining Stars were also lucky to have a Grandma in class to talk about the medals that her own father had been awarded during War time. The children asked some super questions to find out more information. Well done everybody!
