Nursery is a very busy place! The Hungry Caterpillars have been designing buildings and constructing them in our building site role play area.
Our Design Technology project is to make a ‘mini me’ split pin character. The children have designed their ‘mini me’ character and then copied their design onto card. They have cut it out and fastened it together using split pins, so it can move. Finally, they have evaluated their finished product.
The children have also been busy making Valentine’s Day cards for people they love and talking about why they love special people so much!
The instruction for ‘Show and Tell’ this week was to ‘bring something into Nursery that you have made yourself.’ It was wonderful to listen to the children showing and talking about a variety of things they were proud of, such as collages, a ‘Build a Bear’ soft toy, a heart shaped cookie, canvas art, beaded jewellery, different crafts and a marvellous mask!
The Hungry Caterpillars are amazing at designing, building, constructing and making things. That is a good reason why Nursery is such a busy, productive classroom!
