screen-shot-2016-11-03-at-13-22-43On Thursday 3rd November we held a ‘Reading Breakfast’ at our school. Parents of children from Reception to Year 6 were invited to join their children and enjoy sharing a book whilst eating delicious pastries and having a drink.

At Tankersley Primary School we believe that reading is of the upmost importance and the key to successful learning.

The response that we had from our parents was amazing!

The classrooms were over spilling with mums, dads, grandparents and younger siblings.

Those children whose parents unfortunately couldn’t come were supported by some of our Year six children.

This event was a huge success because of the dedication and support of our parents. We are very grateful to have parents who support school in our promotion of reading. Our children received a valuable message today that enjoyment of reading is very important.

Please look at the many photographs which were taken, showing our school community sharing in the pleasure of reading.
