We had a fantastic visit to Sheffield Cathedral with the Y5 pupils this week. The purpose of the visit was to deepen our learning about Christianity and we had a wonderful day. First we took part in a guided tour of the Cathedral and learnt a lot about its history, the different parts of it and special people who lived in the city. Then we found out more about the amazing stained glass windows and created our own art work inspired by the masterpieces in the Cathedral. In the afternoon we also learnt about the importance of pilgrimage in different regions, made our own clay shells and even tried on different vestments . It was a brilliant day and we all really enjoyed it.
