This week, we watched a video of a young Jewish boy preparing for his Bar Mitzvah. Many of us were amazed to find that Jewish boys become ‘men’ at the age of 13, and get a special party to celebrate this.
There are many things that boys and girls have to do to prepare for the event, such as wearing a tallit, covering themselves in the tefellin and learning to read Hebrew from the Torah.
Many of us liked the idea of becoming a ‘grown-up’ at 13, but did not want the responsibility just yet!
