How did Jesus’s death restore our friendship in God?

Christians believe that Jesus died so that we can be forgiven for our sins. We created our very own wall. We wrote down a sin that a person may have committed on a brick. We then built the wall.  One by one we removed the sins from the wall to start a fresh.
