We have started our work based on the Anthony Browne book ‘Gorilla’. In this story a little girl called Hannah is obsessed with gorillas and she longs to see a real gorilla at the zoo. Unfortunately, her father is too consumed with work and has no time for her. Anthony Browne compares Hannah’s dad to a gorilla throughout the story so we had a go at comparing ourselves to an animal. Mrs Chadburn compared herself to an owl, as she’s wise, old and likes to keep a beady eye on everyone! Alexander compared himself to a cheetah because he’s fast and swift. Sofia compared herself to a rabbit because she likes jumping and eating carrots!

We have also carried out some drama work. We scripted a conversation between Hannah and her dad. We then acted out this conversation in our learning pairs.
