Our pupils and their families got to enjoy a very different Christingle event this weekend organised by Canon Hale and Tankersley St Peter’s Church. Lots of children came to make Christingles before following the events of 2000 years ago on our Nativity Trail. They saw angels,  shepherds,  the innkeeper, wisemen and camels,  not to mention a donkey! Of course Mary and Joseph were there,  along with baby Jesus, born to be Saviour of the world.  As carols played and light s twinkled through the trees behind Tankersley Welfare Hall, the figures seemed to come to life.  Owls were hidden in the scenes to help the children discover a special Christmas word. The event continued with craft opportunities and refreshments and was rounded off with a short service, including a wonderful performance by Tankersley Saint Peter’s School’s choir, led by Mrs. Cooper. Heartfelt thanks go to everyone from both the community and the church who worked so hard to make this event such a success.
