We would like to invite you to participate in our reading competition in order to raise funds for the NHS. We would like you to read at least five days a week to a family member in your household.
What you need to do
You can collect donations from family, friends and neighbours once things are back to normal. Adults can pledge a certain monetary amount per number of times a book is read or a flat fee for the whole competition.
Then as you read, you can record your progress on the sheet provided and use this to collect your donations after the competition is over. Once we are back in school you can bring your sponsor money – any amount is ok whether it be 50p or £50. On return of the reading record sheet, you will receive a token to go into a class prize draw for ‘Super Home Reader’.
We would like to challenge you to read in creative ways, this might include ideas like reading in unusual places around your home and garden, or dressing up in different ways. We would like you to send in photographs and/or videos of yourself reading your book to your class Twitter page.

We will collate all the photos or video entries that you send in and present them on our big school film screen. We will all watch these together whilst the core council judge their favourite entry based on the most interesting reading voice, most exciting place to read or reading costume.
