NHS Competition Reading Record

NHS Competition Sponsor Sheet

At the beginning of lockdown we invited you to participate in our reading competition in order to raise funds for the NHS. We asked you to try and hear your child read at least five days a week.

We asked you to collect donations from family and friends, and to pledge a certain monetary amount per number of times a book was read or a flat fee for the whole competition.

Originally we asked you to bring your sponsor money into school, however due to the current situation of not all year groups returning we thought that an alternative online system would be better (see the link below). The deadline for this competition will be Friday 17th July.

You could take a photograph of your child’s reading record sheet and email it to your child’s teacher or just return it in September. Then your child will receive a token to go into a class prize draw for ‘Super Home Reader’. This will be drawn, once all the children are back in school.

Creative Challenge

We would still like to challenge your children to read in creative ways. This might include ideas like reading in unusual places around your home and garden, or dressing up in different ways. We would like you to send in photographs and/or videos of yourself reading your book to your class Twitter page.
