On Thursday 5th March we celebrated National Children’s World Book Day.
We held a ‘Shared Reading Session’ at our school. Older children from classes 6, 5 and 4 were invited to join the younger children in Nursery, Reception and classes 1, 2 and 3. Parents and family members were also invited to attend. They enjoyed The response that we had from the children and parents was wonderful.
The classrooms were over spilling with happy children sharing their love of reading.
This event was a huge success because our older children are brilliant role models. This is not just a one off event, as on a daily basis the Reading Ambassadors read with children in Year 1 and 2.
Our children received a valuable message today that enjoyment of reading is very important.
