Tankersley’s celebration of the world

On Thursday 13th July we held our whole school global showcase – Tankersley’s celebration of the world. It was a wonderful evening and one that our community will remember forever.

What fantastically talented pupils we have! Every class performed an act linked to the topic they learnt about in class and they were all brilliant. We had a Bollywood dance, a Lion King Dance, music, dancing and drama about The Great Fire of London and World War II, a piece about Mammoth Hunters, the Vikings and even a Mexican brass band. Parents and carers joined in too and the ukulele band with “electrifying Elvis” was another hit as was the duo of local folk musicians. Well done to all the individual performers too for being so brave and well prepared. The evening finished with the school choir singing the Streets of London and What do I know by Ed Sheeran, both songs with a really important message. We are incredibly proud of our community for coming together, celebrating our talents and achievements but also remembering our values. Well done everyone!
